Two years after Electric Zoo’s last edition, Randall’s Island finally came alive again with the debut of John Summit’s Experts Only Festival. The two day event drew over 50,000 fans and marked a major milestone for Summit, who has dreamed of hosting his own festival since launching his label in 2022.
Running from 3pm to 10pm each day, the festival featured two stages placed at opposite ends of the grounds, with Summit himself closing both nights and surprising fans with extra daytime sets. His performances blended cheeky charm with heartfelt connection, delivering anthems like 'Where You Are', his brand new release 'Crystalized', and 'Shiver' to packed crowds. Another big highlight was when he dropped a new unreleased track ( ID ), no confirmation at the moment if it's by him.
The lineup offered a mix of heavy-hitters and standout performances: Tini Gessler’s driving tech-house, Kasablanca’s explosive live set, and Pete Tong’s seamless selections. Exclusive back2back, Kaskade b2b Cassian and Green Velvet b2b Layton Giordani, fueled serious FOMO online.
Beyond the music, the festival carried a purpose. A portion of every ticket supported LP Giobbi’s FEMME HOUSE, which advocates for equity in dance music. During her set, LP reminded the crowd: “Black queer people created dance music.”
The festival hasn't confirmed yet if it's gonna back for next year but John Summit shared on his social 'Let's do it next year NYC' !
